6 - Create a post

Create Posts for news-style content that will change or become redundant. For example: an upcoming reading, a review of your latest book, a new poem published, or anything you have written that might be of interest to your readers, from a review of your favourite book to a day-in-the-life piece to a photo of your writing desk. (Refer to the Writer Website template for a list of blog post suggestions.) Posts will appear on your home page. The newest post you have published will appear beneath your background image as a Featured Post. Below this, a brief preview of a further three posts (most recent first) will appear.

Write a post by going to the Posts page (on the main side menu) in Blogger.
  1. Click New Post.
  2. Give the post a title (in the small box).
  3. Copy and paste the post that you have written in advance (into the large box). I suggest writing it outside of Blogger just in case anything goes wrong, so that you don't lose any changes.
  4. To save your post without publishing it yet, click Save. To publish your post to your website, click Publish.
You can edit a post at a later stage, either a draft that has been saved or a post that has been published.
  1. Go to the Posts page in Blogger. Under the name of the post, click Edit.
  2. Make your changes.
  3. Click Update for posts that have already been published. For posts that aren't yet published, click Publish or Save.
